Google — Creating Online

Google

Concept Creative Direction Print Design Photography Illustration Web Design

Google hosts Big Tent events all around the world to bring together many points of view about the impact of the Internet on society. Nowhere Famous was commissioned to produce a book for the Sydney event. A reflection of the conference theme, Creating Online was designed using entirely open-source materials which we then made available for anyone to download and re-mix on the accompanying website.

Driven by the content, a collection of articles written by industry thought leaders, our concept for the book was to become a living example of how content could become democratised, communicated and distributed online in an accessible and fair way. We used an open-source typeface and created rights free images to blur the lines of ownership, leaving the door open for readers to download and share the content as they saw fit.

Concept

As an extension of the publication we developed a website that allowed users to re-mix the content and share their creation online. We also made all the resources used to create the book available for download. To view the Creating Online website click here.

Nowhere Famous was commissioned to develop the branding and identity for Two Governors, a new cafe in the heart of the Sydney CBD. To match the bespoke nature of the cafe's fit-out and offerings, we developed a custom logotype which we applied across printed and digital mediums.

A simple and clean touch point for customers, the website we designed also incorporates an online catering system allowing customers to quickly and easily arrange food and drink orders. To view the live website click here.

Creative Direction Brand Development Identity Print Design Packaging

Jewellery designer Nathan Thomas approached us to develop the identity for his new range of high-end hand made pieces. We developed the brand from the ground up informing everything from the brands name right through to the jewellery packaging.

Maas marks the beginning of a new direction for Nathan Thomas and his jewellery. The name we developed reflects the new perspective his partner Amy has brought to the brand, with Maas being a dutch derivation of the name Thomas.

Creative Direction

Communicating the hand-made nature of the pieces became an integral part of the branding process. The care and detail that goes into each piece was beautifully captured by Amy Piddington, the other half of Maas.

Project Five, an initiative of Ambush Gallery, is an award-winning public art initiative featuring a live art event, public art exhibition and auction. We were commissioned to create the print and digital communications for its fifth instalment. Our execution became an expression of street-art’s ever-changing landscape, its constantly evolving influences and the public’s exposure to it.

The tabloid we designed featured information about the event as well as interviews with the artists. Above shows a spread featuring an interview with volume 5 artist Numskull.

Print Design

A combination of animated projections and a built environment were captured as still and moving images. These visuals formed the foundation for the identity and collateral which we designed.

A series of exhibitions and live-art events, Project Five bridges the gap between street-art and the public, raising money for charity and exposing audiences to established and emerging artistic talent.
